January FOOLS notes
Present: Parsons, Anderson, Whitmeyer.
1900- Financial Report.
LASKY MAY 02 Eastern Idaho FOOLS
Training Seminar.
Friday May 1st 4 hour ROAM class
by Parsons and meet and greet.
ROAM to be a "take this home to train your department class".
Saturday May 2nd LASKY then BBQ.
Shilo room available on the 1st for
400.00
Check with Freeman to make sure he
wants to head up the bbq.
J.T. to take care of plane tickets.
T-shirt, jump-drive with ROAM presentation
on it for a grab bag.
Dues are Due!!!!!
OCTOBER 5th- Tower run. Smiley in-charge.

Minutes for Eastern Idaho FOOLS October 1, 2008

This was not enough members or E-Board that we could consider
it a quarum so decided that no decisions are to be made at this
gathering
Reading of the minutes
Minutes from last meeting were read
with no discussion following.
Discussion of possibility of National Convention. We are warming
up to the idea.
Discussion on the FOOLS 343 Run. Having it on a day other than
9-11. Pro's and con's Overall the event went well. Jeff Parsons
wrote up the event which is posted on the local web site as well
as the national web site.
May 2nd Chief Lasky Pride and ownership is scheduled.
Eastern Idaho Fire Chiefs has graciously granted $1800.00 toward
this event. IAFF local 1565 has been given some as well and that
may be going toward this same event. Costs include fee for Lasky
as well as air-fare and lodging.
Proposal for April, May 3rd, or May 9th. Recruit
instructors from surrounding areas for HOT.
Air management (Jeff Parsons, Smiley plus 2 guys from hosting
dept),
Fireground OPS (Cody and WW plus 2 guys from hosting department),
Saw Maintenance use and ventilation (JT)
Ideally 4 hr lecture and 4 hr HOT. After much discussion the
question remains when to hold the classes vs when the lecture
from Lasky. We will solicit sponsoring departments.
Advertising event. Get the word out. Fireman's ball,
assign departments to members. Twelve departments Blackfoot,
Chubbock, Pocatello, INL, Fort Hall, Teton, Rexburg, Jefferson
Central, Ammon, Ucon, IFFD. FOOLS international, EST, EIFCA.
Shilo is the place to try and talk about paying for training
room and having them comp for lecturer and maybe a group rate
for visiting ff's.
Unofficial meeting is adjourned. Next meeting January
6th 2009.
Minutes for Eastern Idaho FOOLS
July 29, 2008
Members present- Hicks, Parsons, Stallings, Getsinger,
Cody, Parker, Radford, Smiley, Bond, and WW.
Presentation was given about convention in Seattle
by Hicks and WW. Both were much honored to attend and are very
impressed with the Seattle area firefighters and the effort put
forth by the local FOOLS Chapters.
Terry Holverson and Brett Johnson removed from Roster. This was
due to non payment of annual dues. Several attempts were made
to include both brothers.
Radford sponsored Smiley and Parker sponsored Bond for inclusion
into Eastern Idaho FOOLS. Both accepted into FOOLS.
FOOLS run sep.6th Freeman Park. Next year we hope to host at
Snake River Landing. Cody will e-mail assignments.
Discussion for the May lecture and HOT:
Right-Great instructor, good feedback, Took high road, hands-on,
food, organization, equipment, location, started on right foot,
reputation.
Wrong-venue (hillcrest), attendance by IFFD, communication should
be done by us only, more folks, advertising, need reps for getting
things done, a few people were overloaded.
Action list for next event- Contact Lasky, delegate, assign reps,
marketing-promoting, pump-it up, mailer, website, schedule of
events, host department, topic for H.O.T., e-mail attendees from
this year and new ones.
Bill Hicks introduced idea of hosting 2010 FOOLS International
Convention. Members are asked to think about commitment, possible
activities available, and what unique training opportunities
we can provide.
